Dubai forms Education Council
Dr. Khalifa Mohammed Ahmed, Director of the Dubai Ruler's Court, will chair the 10-person council. The Education Council will draw up an educational strategy that takes the UAE's culture into account and that incorporates IT.
Sheikh Mohammed allocated five percent of the income from the Palm and Jumeirah Residence projects to the council.
The Executive Council also endorsed Dubai Municipality's proposal to restore old houses in Abu Heil near Hamriya. The Development Board will supervise this project.
Then they reviewed a housing committee report on designs for residential units for young nationals and discussed plans to modernise infrastructure and roads to accommodate the increasing population and traffic. Sheikh Mohammed ordered a number of changes to projects such as the expansion of Al Garhoud Bridge, Jaddaf Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road and the Palm's roads.
